A chilly Friday morning but i do see sunshine and lots of blue sky! What will Maily and i do today? Well i get that question a lot or at least what DO I DO ALL DAY. Well any stay at home mom(best job in the whole world) can tell you how fast the day goes by! In fact, just yesterday i was talking to my friend Olivia ( who is having child #2 today, a little girl) about how we use to fantasize about making art once we had children because, it would be so easy to paint and draw while the children are sleeping. Ha hahaha we got a good laugh out of that. But i must say that, Maily and JEFF have been very inspiring and very supportive of my crafty ideas. I have so many ideas i swear my head will explode. SO an addition to the art studio will be great because right now my sewing machine tends to take over the living room. The plan is to add on a sewing room and keep the original building as our painting room! ANd i say "our" because Jeff paints too! ANd the Wild Child and her friends could go wild without any worries of paint splattered around!
SO here are some little projects i've done in my spare time.

quilts made before she was born

MAILY'S ROOM has been fun to decorate, i've changed it twice since she was born. I've sewn window curtains, bed ruffle and closet curtains. Eventually i will paint her a mural.

big smile after lots of fun

Kombucha

Have you tried this stuff yet?Kombucha is awesome. It's Black tea that is cultured for a week or more with the end result full of Amino acids and Antioxidants. I have always wanted to try to brew some beer, wine or maybe even ginger beer but have never taken the plunge. Well tomorrow I will start small and try a batch of Kombucha.
Stay tuned for the results.

Amy has been working on a blanket for Maily and finished it up yesterday.

It turned out great and Maily was very excited.

Tonight we had dinner at our friends Camille and Aaron's house. Maily had a blast with their 2 boys Calvin and Eli. We hope they tired her out enough so we can get some sleep tonight(the Wild Child is not the greatest sleeper)The meal was 5 stars,Roast Turkey, potato pancakes, veggies, salad and for dessert Bread pudding Yummm. Thanks guys.

Swatter

Yesterday during some spring cleaning we forgot to show you a great way to clean your fly swatter.
Good job Maily.

It takes a lot of juice to get the taste out of your mouth.

Spring here in the mountains can be weird.
Cold weather has returned with some snow. But it does melt quick this time of year and we need the moisture. The clouds did move away to show a nice sunset while entering this Blog.

hoppy spring

Yes were still here.Just been a little crazy.
1st Hoppy Spring. We were going to post this Friday(1st day of spring) but like I said a little crazy.
Amy has been racking her brain for months on a name for her art store,Etsy store,e-mail,web site etc etc etc.
It finally came to focus.
Handy Chick.
Maily's hand print with a little inspiration from our chickens. She seems relieved and can now focus on making stuff.

We sat aside a week to do some major excavation for some projects but the Toy I brought home from work crapped out the first day.

Did manage to start on the addition for Amy's art studio. Will finish up after a few repairs.

Saturday night Maily decided to throw a party at 3:00am. We were both invited. Thank good- ness for strong coffee!

When we saw the weather forecast for Sunday(30 mph winds in the after noon)we hustled to do some spring cleaning.
As you can see the shed was over due.
Amy,s bulbs are small this year but it has been super dry.

Ahhhhh.......relaxing and enjoying some warm spring sunshine. LIFE IS GOOD

Green Day

Happy St Pats day
This is a confusing holiday. You drink green beer, wear green or get pinched and eat pickled beef with boiled cabbage(strange).

Amy and Maily took a trip to the park today.

She gets so excited watching the other older kids running around. You can tell she's learning from every move they make.

The weather here was perfect.Almost 70

Instead of the traditional Ireland meal we grilled up a couple of homegrown T-Bones from Windy Acres Ranch. They were amazing.

Vertical

Maily has decided she likes to be vertical. She mastered sitting up real easy then moved to crawling..Now she wants to stand. She's still a little shaky so you have to keep one eye on the Wild Child all the time. Wish we had a neck like an Owl because,When its quiet and your back is turned the trouble starts.

Yesterday we spent the morning cutting dead trees thanks to the Pinon Beetle. That tiny bug is doing some serious damage in our area.We loose about 10 trees a year.Sad
We slow cooked some pork ribs all day than the group from Windy Acres came over to help tear um up.Grandma could not help but let Maily try a little Rib action.

Mmmm Pork

Bye for now

Bills

Today our credit card bill came in the mail. SCARY....But today the balance is $0
It feels sooo good.Sure we use our card but when we get the bill we pay it in full.I love to use the banks money for 30 days free then get cash back at the end of the year. The card company's have been getting Fat for to many years.

Maily has decided its time to start talking. And with no surprise her first words were Momma.
Here she is confirming momma is number 1.

Our camera decided to die on us, so tomorrow we will help stimulate the economy with the purchase of a new one.

Proud Momma

So this time change is totally messing with me.The alarm goes off at 5:30 and my body says, wowa it's like 4:30.Then, when the clock says it's time for bed, my body says hey 1 hour to go.
But the extra light in the evening is awesome.
Amy has been busting with pride ever since her daughter made the flier for a local cutest baby contest. So, we had to show off a bit.I think she is a little proud of that girl of hers.

We went for a walk this evening and Maily tried out a play ground for the first time.
She loved the swing. To her being outside is the Shizzzzzzle Dizzzzle. We only had the camera on my phone so the picture kinda stinks.

I had to post this last picture just because sleeping baby's are so darn Cute.

Cheerios

The first time I saw our house the realtor said it was 3 bedroom 1 3/4 bath. 1 3/4??When I arrived at the house there was a nice 1/2 bath upstairs a full bath downstairs then in the master bedroom a shower. Shower in the bedroom...What the... who lived here John Holmes.

I had to have this house. After about a year it finally made since, turn it into a steam room. The humidity here is super low. Well after the instillation of a steam generator and a glass door.
Hello skin lovin moisture.

Today the weather was Crazy.A Snow Blizzard on the way to work(and with the time change it is now Dark at 6:30am)and when I get home Sunny and Beautiful, ahhh spring in the Rockies.

Friday Maily will be 8 months, crazy how the time flys. Seems like we were just bringing her home and now she's eating Cheerios.

Longer days

Spring Forward

Ahh just in time.Spring fever has been running amok around here.Although the mornings are still cold and will be for awhile, longer days sure help with the fever.
Our list of improvements for around the house this year ;
Put in a garden,Double the size of Amy's Studio, Transform our carport into a workshop for Jeff, Play area for Maily(swing set, sand box, animal cage) and as always, Amy has big plans for the flower beds.
She loves to surround our house in color.

Yesterday winter showed it's self again.
Consuela, one of our chickens,is complaining about the snow.

Amy went to a friends baby shower. Her hand made gifts were a hit.

Well time to get cleaned up for a Sunday trip to Grandma's

Yoga

Friday at Last.
OK Lets start the day with a few Yoga moves.

First touch your right foot.

Now put your left foot behind you. Ouch!

OK, all stretched out and ready for play group.

The Wild CHild took over play group. Surrounded by other 8+month old kiddos who just sat and looked at each other, our Maily was crawling all over and on top of anything that got in her way!

Her energy still amazes us ( yes she gets it from her father)! After two hours of playing and a couple hours of shopping with Mom you would think she might be tired but oh no! At 7:45 pm the Wild Child strikes and kept us laughing for awhile! Maybe it's the Altitude
