Gone Green

GONE GREEN! And i 'm not talking about the weeds. Although they are out of control. Jeff came home with the truck loaded down with recycled glass! It's much much cheaper than gravel, no sharp edges, and sparkles under the sun.

lining the pathway around the house with it

Busy Memorial Weekend! It started off with a nice run and a little quiet time for Mom! We came back from running, had a nice lunch , looked out the window and saw a stream flowing through the backyard!

Every year this happens, we get a flood and we thought we prepared for it this year, OPPS. Oh well, Maily and i put on our shit kickers and started digging! By the time we were done, we both had mud on us and i was wearing country clay stilettos! Ever heard of them? we got things under control and flowing in the right direction and filled up our ponds in a couple hours! Jeff came home picked up the pieces and he too got to play in the mud.

After the pond filled, it sprung a leak and created more work for Jeff! But once again Mr Fix It got it under control! Beat himself up with the machine but he was back in action after some tylenol and BEER!

Lets hope the Geese help seal the pond

chuckwagon yum yum

Yeah, the family went to the chuck wagon jamboree! Nothing like sitting outside eating BBQ and listening to some great music. The Wild Child was getting cranky through dinner but when the music kicked in, she was all smiles, clapping and dancing!

Grandpa taught her to play the spoons

yard work

OK Dad,
Here's a blog for you. Just wanted you to see the crazy things we are doing to the yard. We planted trees, 7 new ones!

this little tree is a lilac tree, no water in the ponds yet!

we have a new flower bed under this tree which is a snow crab tree, and a globe willow in the background

can you see all the rock? And we are still not finished!

Jeff fixed up our flower bed and i planted it with perennials.
So we have a lot more weed matt and rocks to lay! THe thistle has taken over, along with other weeds so we are weed matting and using all our rock! But we will keep the grass in the backyard! I'm embarrassed to say, we still haven't mowed the lawn/weeds.

mother's day

Mother's day was great! We had a picnic and Wild Child cooled her feet in the river.

Then we played in the park and on the swings. Even Great Grandpa Clyde was swinging!

Since last weekend we've been doing yard work! Lots and lots of rock moving! Instead of fighting it, we decided to use the rock in our landscaping! Which means lots of sore back muscles for Jeff. But it's looking good! Today we had fun enjoying our patio and the beautiful weather.

Our cacti have bloomed!

SPRING IS IN THE AIR

Aahhhhh........the sweet smell of spring! This is my favorite time of the year. The air is alive with sweet smells, the birds are chirping and the frogs are croaking! Time to open the windows and doors and take it all in! But, you must be careful who you open the door for..........
these guys were knocking on the door but Maily shooed them off.

Crazy geese everywhere, the other day i had to stop the car and let a family of them cross the road and boy were the babies cute! it's definitely spring, babies are everywhere. Jeff saved a baby gold finch, the neighbors have a pony, and a huge congrats to our friends Amy and Steve and their little one and, Marie and Kynan and their little one! All these friends having kids is wonderful! We recently made an addition to our family.........

six new chicks have been added, now we have a grand total of nine. Our chicks are no longer free to roam the property. The three adults had quit the adventurous side to them and would go strolling over to the neighbors and dig in their flowerbeds! Doesn't make for great neighborly relations. So they are stuck inside a fence and are retaliating by no longer producing eggs for us!

With spring comes a trip to the park and a little soccer,

also spring cleaning and the Wild Child loves to help with laundry

Now that she has figured out how to stand, she would rather be vertical

MOAB VACA

Vacation in Moab with the family! My brother and his family visited us for a week at the end of April! IT was awesome to see them and spend time with them. The nephew is a super fun kid! Can't wait to hang out again, we miss you guys! The three of them, the three of us and Grandpa and Grandma A spent a couple days in Moab, UT. They've never been there , so we thought we would introduce them to the rocks at Arches. I think the highlight of the trip was the jeep tour hosted by wildman Uncle Jeffrey. Jeff took them on quit the scary adventure over the Lion's Back and around that area. It was fun to hear their stories, they were laughing so hard the tears were flowing! While the men were playing the women spent their money at the shops in Moab, hahaha and hung out at the pool!

Maily's first time in the pool

Breakfast before the day's adventures

unfortunately it was time to return home. Maily loves to drive (kidding)

back at home playing with uncle Darek and his star war's gun , lol

At Windy Acres the pigs have grown and cowboy Jeff was trying out his riding skills

Maily loves her cousin John!
