camping again!

We had another wonderful camping trip! It feels good to be in the mountains!Much cooler than the 97 degrees at our house! We found a beautiful spot next to a creek. IT was awesome! IT did do a lot of raining, typical for this time of the year. We thought we would wake to a dripping tent but to our amazement it held up!

WOw, it's August! Summer is flying bye and i feel like we are just now getting into it, actually enjoying it! I've been taking Maily to the hot springs or the public pool. She loves the water. Infact, i took her down the big slide and i accidently dunked her at the end, oopsie! BUt, she came up, wiped the water off her face and wanted more! SHe's an adrenaline junkie like her Dad and big Sis! Therefore, when she wants to go sky diving or bungie jumping, Jeff can take her!

IT's moments like this that give me grey hair!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

WOW, it's been a year! We can't believe our little girl is a year old. This morning Jeff and I were laughing about our birthing experience and the thousands of squats i did in attempt to get Maily here! Whoa, crazy times but so worth it. She is the greatest gift ever! She brings such joy and love and a smile to everyday!!
I'm not sure who was more excited about having a birthday party, Maily or me? haha i'm pretty sure it was me. There is a lot of pressure on a mommy to create a cake for her child. So i'm not painting right now but i still got those creative juices! What do you think of her cake? It's suppose to be a monkey but you can call it a bear too.


We tried to get her to use her hands but our little monkey likes to use her feet!
Maily invited her friends Eli and fiance Calvin. Yes we had a marriage proposal from Calvin. I hope they can wait till they are at least 30 yrs old, hehehehe.
Grandpa and Grandma were there and, Maily is one lucky little girl to have two great-grand parents at the party too!

IT was a hot day reaching into the 90's! Thank goodness Grandma found a table in the shade and it came with a creek! Great place to cool the feet!

Maily got some great gifts. She loves her baby doll.


She received some great books and one of them makes animals noises as you turn the pages!


What better way to burn off the cake and ice cream but to goof around on the playground!

We can't eat just cake and ice cream so how about some plum!

Forth of July

We celebrated the Forth of July in style. The Family camped out at Vallecito and somehow we got very lucky with the weather! It was beautiful with light rain showers at night which made for some great sleeping. OF course Maily was in heaven because she got to sleep between Mommy and Daddy!
We all managed to stay up and watch the fireworks. Maily found them to be very exciting. The louder the better! Speaking of loud, she found her voice this weekend. She loved shouting to all the other campers. We all had a good time. Jeff and i laugh about all the stuff we pack for camping these days. The days of the backpacking tent and packing very light are over for awhile, hahaha.
