art studio

Here's a blog i've been wanting to do for a long long time!
My wonderful, handsome, extremely talented husband built me an art studio out of a shack!! HE did all this before building himself a GARAGE!! THe transformation of the shack to studio is incredible.

This is the shack

After completely gutting the shack and getting rid of its inhabitants, it gets a porch and real walls

The porch light is a kerosene lantern that Jeff tore apart and turned into a light that's on a sensor. The door and window were free from an old house, just gave them a little love and they turned out great

another view, looking at the north and west side

inside the studio, loft in the top for storage, you could also sleep there if i didn't have it filled.
THe studio size is 8x10.Which i out grew when i decided to start sewing.
SO, my awesome husband decided i needed an addition, a sewing room!!! VERY EXCITING for me!

So here's the start of the addition. Somehow jeff was able to drive this machine through the trees with no harm to the trees or cacti or the himself!

This part made me nervous, Jeff used the machine to lift the original building so he could crawl under it and reposition blocks and basically keep my studio from sliding down the hill!

down goes the floor

up goes the walls

rafters come next and YES that is a thunder storm brewing behind Jeff!

roof is on

outside is almost done

Outside is done

The inside is incredible and very inspiring and a wonderful place to work!

After the birthday party, we had fun in the art studio!

After that we had another party to go to!! THis one was twenty+ adults and 8 toddlers! Sounds pretty wild, we all had fun and the kids did great! After the party we stayed at a friend's cabin! awesome little cabin with an incredible view of the lake.

Cabin living room with bear foot stool that Maily fell in love with!

Yes her Momma dressed her, hahaha!
Woke up the next day to lots of snow!

Moab in Novemer

This last weekend was fabulous! The weather was awesome. We went to Moab and along the way bought a 1967 ROadrunner travel trailer! It needs a little love but overall in good shape. WE slept in the tent but i have to admit it was nice in the cold morning to have breakfast inside the trailer. Jeff even made us coffee on the stove!
We enjoyed a campfire

Next day we went on a beautiful hike. If you missed the fall colors, the nice thing about Moab, the colors are just changing! Beautiful time of the year to be there.

All that fresh air makes for a quiet ride home, YEAH!

Next day Maily woke up refreshed and ready to play. She was having fun balancing this bowl on her head
